Scarborough Townhouses 2

Bright and spacious designs to suit their ocean views.

This project began by amalgamating two existing lots, a corner site and adjacent block, and dividing them into three townhouses.

These all share an underground parking area accessed from the side street, which has six bays, a storage room and separate secure entry stairwells to each individual townhouse. The ground floor of each townhouse contains a master bedroom with robes and ensuite, and two secondary bedrooms with built in robes

Client priorities

There is a separate bathroom and laundry on the ground floor, along with a separate lounge/entertaining area which opens onto one of the two decks that are situated at the front and rear of the townhouse.


The first floor is the main living area with an open plan kitchen with scullery, dining, and living area opening up onto a generous balcony with views to the ocean. There’s also another master bedroom.

Sustainable Features

The townhouses each have a raked roof oriented to the north with highlight windows that allow for plenty of sunlight and provide natural ventilation. A void in the first floor lets this natural light reach the ground floor. The external walls are highly insulated with Equitone fibre cement panels, giving a concrete look without the environmental impacts of solid concrete. Large windows in the master bedrooms allow for ocean views, while louvres provide protection from the heat as the sun sets.
