Set in a beautiful New Zealand estate with a mountainous backdrop, this unique project is a designer’s dream. The clients wanted a contemporary, single storey home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a completely functional guest wing. This guest wing is to be separated from the main house by a rammed earth wall.

Client priorities
The clients also want a second concept that utilises a kit construction method. With the manufacturer located in Queensland, Australia, however, we need to ensure the design can be transported in a sea container.
To do this, we’ll refine the wall and roof designs to ensure the home has a similar look to the initial concept, while being sympathetic to the new construction requirements.
