Fremantle 2 Residence

Existing houses present unique and challenging opportunities for designers. This house located in Fremantle was built in the 70’s in a strong Italian European style which the client wanted to update. Ecohabit in conjunction with the client, marketing company Breadbox, undertook major renovations that included altering wall positioning and window sizes. This updated the layout of the house to a more contemporary open plan living area, creating a stronger connection between the interior of the house and the large patio entertainment area and backyard. The increased natural light into the spaces not only made them more welcoming but reduced the need for artificial lighting. The finishes of the house were given a complete overhaul, a combination of warm European Oak, cool stone, glass and concrete creates an interesting, clean but comforting and inviting space.
