Existing houses present unique and challenging opportunities for designers. This house, located in Fremantle, was built in the 70’s in a strong Italian European style and Ecohabit undertook major renovations that included moving walls and changing window sizes.
This updated the layout of the house to a more contemporary, open plan design with a stronger connection to the large patio entertainment area and backyard. The increased natural light into these spaces made them more welcoming and reduced the need for artificial lighting. The finishes of the house were given a complete overhaul, with a combination of warm European Oak, cool stone, glass and concrete creating an interesting yet inviting space.
